This summer, Cabo Trek offers two 5-day camps in Cabo San Lucas designed to connect kids and teens with the ocean based on their experience level. From our Basic workshop focused on snorkeling and ecological awareness, to the Advanced level centered on freediving challenges and ocean rescue skills, we deliver a week of hands-on learning and unforgettable adventure. Guided by certified professionals, your kids will explore the ocean, build confidence, and create stories they’ll remember for a lifetime.

Basic Summer Camp
This 5-day program is the perfect introduction to the Sea of Cortez. In a safe and fun environment, kids will learn fundamental snorkeling techniques, safety rules, and basic first aid. Through games and group activities, they will explore local marine life while strengthening values like discipline and teamwork.
Ideal for:
Boys and girls ages 7 to 12 looking for their first experience in the underwater world.
Advanced Summer Camp
Designed to build independence and refine technique, this 5-day program takes ocean knowledge to the next level. Participants will be introduced to the fascinating world of freediving, practice essential marine knots, and learn advanced rescue techniques, including the use of oxygen and CPR. This experience emphasizes ecological responsibility and leadership.
Ideal for:
Ages 8 to 15 with prior experience who want to take their skills to the next level
Requirements:
Completion of the Basic Summer Camp (or equivalent snorkeling skills) and the ability to swim
ACTIVITY SCHEDULE
Basic Summer Camp
All sessions are divided into three parts:
•Theoretical introduction (1 hour)
•Field activity (2 hours)
•Closing activity (1 hour)
Each session includes the following activities:
DAY 1
Empacadora Beach
- Presentation of the camp objectives and the responsible team.
- Create a checklist for a snorkeling trip.
- Learn about the parts of the equipment, how to use them, and snorkeling rules.
DAY 2
Empacadora Beach
- Gain basic first aid knowledge.
- Create a first aid kit.
- Simulate an emergency during a snorkeling activity.
DAY 3
Medano Beach
- Strengthen the skills and concepts learned in the initial sessions.
- Identify key points at a new snorkeling spot: wave conditions, water entry, bottom type, etc.
- Raise awareness about environmental cleanliness and care.
DAY 4
Boat Trip
- Get familiar with the main parts of a boat and the responsibilities of the crew.
- Explore and classify fish species observed while snorkeling.
- List the actions to take for eco-friendly snorkeling.
DAY 5
Boat Trip
- Explore marine diversity at Pelican Rock.
- Certificate and official booklet handout.
- Final celebration with parents.
Advanced Summer Camp
All sessions are divided into two parts:

Each session includes the following activities:
DAY 1
Boat Trip to Pelican Rock
- Introduction to the camp objectives and team.
- Review of basic snorkeling techniques.
- Introduction to ocean hazards: currents, waves, etc.
- Water safety and prevention rules.
- Buddy team formation and practice of the M.A.R.I.N.O acronym.
DAY 2
Boat Trip to Empacadora Beach
- Review of first aid in the ocean.
- Practice of marine knots.
- Assisting a partner in distress: rescue with a flotation ring, CPR, and oxygen administration.
DAY 3
Boat Trip to Santa María Beach or Gavilán Beach
- Morphological recognition of fish.
- Identification of marine species and their roles in marine ecosystems.
- Responsible observation of marine life.
DAY 4
Boat Trip to Chileno Bay
- Introduction to freediving.
- Basic techniques for breathing, relaxation, and control in the water.
- Safe, supervised practice of static and free diving.
DAY 5
Boat Trip to Medano Beach
- Underwater beach cleanup using freediving.
- Environmental awareness and ocean conservation.
- Closing celebration with parents.

Meeting Point
We will meet in our office and storefront 15 minutes before the time of your tour. While in the shop, we’ll process your payment or revise your reservation, allow you time to shop around our storefront for souvenirs and read up on some of the educational activities you’ll be partaking in that day. We offer free wi-fi, cookies, water before everyone is ready to head to the dock. Then we’ll take a quick 1-minute walk from the shop to the dock. There you’ll board our boat, put on your life vests, be given a complimentary water bottle, and finally, set out on your adventure!
